Marvellous Mousse

Mousse is absolutely delicious whether it is chocolate, strawberry, vanilla or any other flavor combination that you can think of. Perhaps the best part is that it is also incredibly easy to make and when you have that first taste of this light dessert you will not want to stop eating it until it is all gone. We decided that white chocolate mousse is our personal favorite so after a bit of tinkering in the kitchen here is the recipe for a marvelous mousse you will want to make again and again.

Marvellous Mousse

Ingredients:

½ Cup of Whipping Cream
½ Cup of Chopped White Chocolate
4 Ounces of Cream Cheese
1 to 3 Tablespoons of Powdered Sugar
½ Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
A Pinch of Salt
Berries for Garnish (raspberries, strawberries, etc.)

Method:

First up you will want to make sure that you have some nice glasses to serve your mousse in and for it to set in. You can use normal juice glasses or use a selection of different glasses that have intricate patterns or swirls. A thrift store is a great place to pick up an assortment of fun glassware for a quirky set. Once you have your chosen glasses it is time to start making the mousse.

You will need a medium-sized mixing bowl and then you have to pour the whipping cream inside. Grab an electric mixer and whip the cream on high speed until it begins to form stiff peaks. Be mindful not to over whip it and turn it into butter as that will not make your mousse taste very good.

Now, the white chocolate has to be melted in a small saucepan over very low heat. You can also use a microwave but only turn it on for 30-second bursts and stir it after each session to make sure it is melted evenly. Using another bowl, put the cream cheese and 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar inside. Then beat it with the electric mixer you used for the whipping cream. It should become quite light, at which point you can pour the white chocolate over the top, and the vanilla extract. Turn the mixer on medium speed and blend it all together.

Finally, add the whipping cream to the mixture by slowly folding it in. The mixer can be used but only on a low setting, you want everything to be just combined. Give it a quick taste test to see if it is sweet enough and add some more powdered sugar if it is not. It can be served now, or you can chill it in the fridge for later. Place a few berries on top and it is ready to go.
